LIVE MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY

I absolutely enjoy shooting live music shows. I’ve photographed 2 of Hard Rock Cafe Boston’s upcoming performer showcases. How I got involved? That was 100% serendipity.

Backstory: One of my best friends, Evan, is an unbelievable musician, who always lets me tag along at events, from small hipster gatherings in Cambridge where the main attraction is a guy clumsily caressing the chords of his guitar with no tempo and in no order (his song was called “Shoes Coming Undone” – now you can imagine precisely how hipster it was), to bigger events such as those of Hard Rock Boston, featuring label reps, bumping speakers and lots of electric guitars and hair flying everywhere.

The timing: It so happened that the first time I went to the showcase with Evan, his close friend and a VERY talented musician, was hosting the program. The photographer they had originally contracted bailed, and seeing me with a Cannon hanging from my neck, she approached and asked me if I’d be down to shoot the event. Uhhh, hell yeah. That was the first time I ever shot a live performance. The second time, I was Hard Rock’s first choice for a photographer, so I went prepared.

So, without further ado (I digress so much), enjoy some shots!
